We’ve all been there: you just found a perfect potential partner on your favorite singles’ phone chat and dating numbers, and everything seems just perfect until…you run out of things to say!
No matter the intimacy between you two, in your conversations over the phone there will always be some awkward silences at some point. But there’s no need to freak out! There are many ways to keep your calls always interesting.
Here are some ideas, tips and games to have even more fun on phone dating party lines!
Watch the same movie while chatting over the phone. Are you and your boo both fans of the same TV series, or interested in thriller movies? If you keep the volume of the TV reasonably low, you should be able to keep chatting on speakerphone while enjoying your favorite show. Act exactly as if you were together in person, commenting on the story, characters, and so on.
Play conversational games. 20 Questions and Never Have I Ever can be played on a phone chat line as well, and they can be ridiculously fun! You can even turn them into drinking games, if both you and your date have some booze handy. Remember: don’t be afraid to act silly or childish once in a while!
Take online quizzes to test your compatibility as a couple, or personality tests. Of course you won’t have to be too serious about the results, but they can be a fun activity to alternate with the usual “what’s going on?” talk. You can also create your own quiz template, to test your boo’s knowledge about a specific topic you’re both passionate about.
Get crafty together. Whether you like crocheting, painting, making paper art or getting creative with clay, make sure that your partner too is interested in it, then teach them how to do it over the phone. Don’t forget to make your lessons simple and fun, and to interrupt yourself from time to time to have some small talk as well. Bonus points if you both have a nice cup of tea handy!
